Easy Back-to-Campus Hairstyles

Headed back to campus this semester? You don’t need to settle for the same boring hairstyle. With a little help from the expert stylists and colorists at Five Senses Spa, Salon & Barbershop, you’ll go back to class in style. And if you’re in a hurry, here are a few easy hairstyle ideas that help you look great no matter how busy you get this semester

Easy braids. Loose, messy braids can give you a great look on campus. They take just a little bit longer to put together than a ponytail, but the extra few minutes are worth it. You don’t have to worry about being perfect since a little touch of that messy romantic look is even better. If your messy braids seem to always turn into frizz, ask your Five Senses stylist if regular deep conditioning treatments are right for you.

Twisted updo. The updo is a great way to get your hair out of the way while giving you an ultra-sophisticated look. You can get fancy with knots and braids or keep it simple with this twisted style. Just start with a ponytail and do a few twists and secure it with a hair comb and bobby pins.

Upside Down Ponytail. This one is simple yet gives you a great trendy look. Just flip your hair over and braid it from the bottom, then when you reach the top of your head, gather everything that’s left into a ponytail. You’ll have a high ponytail look with an interesting, braided texture that is a great on-campus style.

Upgraded ponytail. The ponytail is always a great go-to look on campus, but if you want to take it up a notch, try a textured, ‘piece-y’ ponytail for that vintage grunge style. Get the look by putting your hair up in the ponytail and then take out pieces in the front for a loose, casual look. This is also a great style if you’re growing out your summer blonde color – the darker roots add to this style’s charm.

Babylights for a change of color. Nervous about a commitment to a completely different color? You can get a new look by adding warmth to your existing color with babylights, gentle highlights that brighten up your color without a drastic change.

Layered cut. If you’re looking for a new look for your back-to-campus style, try a new layered cut. Layers are a great way to add volume and show off your hair’s natural texture, whether that’s super curly or just gentle waves. Layers work for all lengths of hair, from short pixies to long, flowing beach waves.
