We love that extra bounce in our step we feel after a great hair appointment. Unfortunately, it may be a while before we get to experience that again but that doesn't mean your hair has to go from fab to drab! Continue reading to discover ways to keep your hair looking as if you just walked out of Five Senses Spa and Salon.
Keep Hair Color Fresh
Space Out Shampoo. Cleansing your hair too often can lead to dry, damaged strands and can dull color more quickly. If you have naturally oily hair, try only shampooing hair every-other-day and if your hair is less oily, twice a week should work! In between washes, use a quality dry shampoo to give hair volume and texture.
Gloss and Glaze Treatments. These treatments can revitalize color and leave strands with a shinier and smoother appearance. The difference between these treatments is often how long they last, from 1-6 weeks. It is important to weigh the options and choose a product that is best for you!
Keep Hair Strong
During this mandated closure you might feel tempted to trim your hair but that could be a big mistake! Try these tips to keep hair strong and reduce split ends.
Nutrition. You know drinking plenty of water is good for your body but did you know it's important for healthy hair, too? Along with drinking enough water, there are many vitamins and minerals that promote hair health including zinc, Vitamin A, and Vitamin E. Typically you don't need to buy expensive supplements as eating a well-rounded diet will provide the best nutrients.
Reduce Friction. From our bedsheets to bath towels, rough cotton fabrics can cause a lot of damage to our hair. If you don't have time to allow hair to air dry, try using a t-shirt or microfiber towel instead of terry cloth. At night, protect your strands by wearing a silk wrap or bonnet over your hair.
Moisturize. Deep conditioning hair rehydrates your locks and helps reseal cuticles to help maintain moisture. Well-hydrated hair looks and feels healthier and is often much easier to manage!
