Yes, we made it past Memorial Day and now June is shining summer bright ahead of us, but that doesn’t mean the you’re too late to get in on the fantastic hair colors trending this summer. There’s still time to find the perfect technique and shade to bring your summer style to the next level, and here are some ideas for you.
If you want to switch it up but you don’t want to make a big change, opting for some subtle highlights may be just the thing for you. This technique is a great way to create definition in your style, but it’s important to get the placement down pat. Your colorist will frame your face and highlight your natural part while giving a bit of a boost to your ends as well. Opt for tone-on-tone or baby fine highlights that blend in naturally with your base color.
On the other hand if you’re ready for something different, consider a rich brown shade. If your complexion is fair or golden, look for a warm, milk chocolate color. If you have an olive or red-based skin tone, look instead toward the cooler, deeper brunette tones. Your colorist will be able to tailor blend the end result to work best with both your natural hair color as well as your skin tones.
Another great break out color option for the summer is the ever-expanding red family. If you have a fair, cool complexion tone, look toward the intense copper shades while warm skin tones will look best with the auburn group. Copper undertones are a big hit with all of the red family going more golden for the lighter end of the spectrum and more auburn for the darker end. And let’s not forget blorange, that hybrid blonde/orange tone that’s showing up more and more often.
